I have ranted on my site about how Beane has gutted the franchise repeatedly and gotten away with it...and in fact was a one time believer in the Bible that appeared to be Moneyball...but as an A's fan from the 70's (aside from the hometown Phils)...I have to say I've taken the Oakland shirts and caps out of the closet this off-season as I see no genius taking place in the Bay any longer. I think he has over time become so fascinated with gutting and rebuilding his team - legitimately at one point due to economics - he "jumped the shark" this year and will field a team that may lose 100 games with ease. All this while they are preparing to build a new stadium. Loved the book, believed in the man...but feel betrayed by his latest movements.
